Fit India Cycle Sunday: Jaipur Rallies Behind Commonwealth Day 2030 Theme
Chief Secretary V. Srinivas leads 5-km ride at SMS Stadium; CRPF, CISF, SAI and state sports officials join citizens in fitness drive
JAIPUR, May 24 — Hundreds of athletes, senior officials, youth and fitness enthusiasts gathered at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Stadium here on Sunday for the "Fit India–Cycle Sunday" event, organised this year under the theme "Commonwealth Day 2030" to build public momentum ahead of India's bid-linked preparations for the global multi-sport meet.
The programme, anchored around a cycle rally through the stadium precinct and a community Zumba session, was positioned by organisers as both a fitness drive and an awareness exercise for the Commonwealth Games 2030 cycle. Officials said the format was designed to draw participation across age groups and uniformed services.
Chief Secretary leads from the front
Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas cycled the 5-kilometre route alongside personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and other participants. "This is not merely a celebration; it is a meaningful beginning towards national health consciousness and our preparation for Commonwealth 2030," Srinivas told participants at the stadium, according to event organisers.
The chief secretary's participation, officials said, was intended to signal administrative backing for community-led fitness programming in the state capital.
